It’s almost NaNoWriMo, so what should I do? Switch Projects, of course!

It’s almost November.  Roughly a week left, actually, until NaNoWriMo starts.

So, of course, what did I do the day before yesterday?  Switched projects.  Originally, I was going to write a sequel—probably not the brightest idea since the first book isn’t really finished—but I thought, hey!  I already have the setting and characters all figured out; so all I have to do is figure out the plot!

Then I found the plot holes in my first book and realized that it needed a lot of work.  Long story short, I’m writing a new “book one” and the original book one is now the second one, and the sequel I was supposed to be writing is now the third book.

Hmm.  I thought most writers had to start later and cut off several chapters in the beginning—at least, according to a few episodes of Writing Excuses—not earlier…  Oops.

Oh well.  The past three days I’ve been trying to plan it out a little, and starting earlier in the storyline I think is really going to fix a lot.  I’ve already fixed two plot holes in the storyline that I didn’t even know existed.  Funny how that works, eh?

Anyway.  Now I’m rambling.  Again.  But, I tend to do that when I’m excited, and I’m really, really excited for NaNoWriMo this year.  I actually got several family members to join me, which will make it all the better.

  1. What do they say? Great minds think alike. Or in this case frantic minds think alike. I did exactly that. Change from what I originally thought was a great idea: about an abandoned girl, then to an orphan being adopted and all, and now I THINK I’ll be writing a girl who has cancer and her journey,
Yes I know all very sad sounding topics, huh~
